Statement from Representative Nancy Mace on the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act Passing the House and Senate

December 18, 2024

"Children in residential treatment facilities are subjected to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, while facility operators profit from a $20 billion-a-year industry funded by taxpayers," said Rep. Nancy Mace. "We co-sponsored the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act in the House, and it passed both chambers. We are taking steps to ensure our vulnerable children are protected from abuse in taxpayer-funded facilities. This isn’t up for debate.”
