Legislating for the Lowcountry

Here’s what we’ve been working on in Washington:

Image
no amnesty for hamas

No Amnesty for Hamas Sympathizers Act: We reintroduced the No Amnesty for Hamas Sympathizers Act, aimed at blocking all immigration benefits for individuals from Palestinian-controlled territories or holding Palestinian Authority documents. The bill follows the recent antisemitic attack in Boulder and seeks to prevent extremist threats like Hamas from gaining entry to the U.S. America will not be a safe haven for terrorist sympathizers or those who fuel antisemitic hate.

protect survivors not predators

Rape Shield Enhancement Act: We reintroduced the Rape Shield Enhancement Act of 2025, a powerful bipartisan bill to protect survivors of sexual assault from being retraumatized in court. Backed by survivor advocacy organizations, the bill aims to remove barriers to justice and hold predators, not victims, accountable.

law and order on the way

Lawless Cities Accountability Act: In response to the violent riots in Los Angeles, We introduced the Lawless Cities Accountability Act alongside Congressman Brandon Gill, a tough new bill to strip federal funding from cities which allow lawlessness to take hold. The legislation empowers the Attorney General to label jurisdictions “lawless” if they defund police, block riot control, or reject federal assistance during unrest. Cities who choose mob rule over law and order won’t see a dime in federal funds.

america first terrorists last

Muslim Brotherhood Is a Terrorist Organization Act: We introduced the Muslim Brotherhood Is a Terrorist Organization Act, directing the Secretary of State to designate the group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. The bill unlocks key national security tools like financial sanctions, asset freezes, and travel bans to dismantle the Brotherhood’s operations. Backed by President Trump’s vision, this legislation takes a firm stand against Islamic extremism and puts America’s security first.

farmers first

OFF Act: We reintroduced the Opportunities for Fairness in Farming (OFF) Act of 2025, a bipartisan bill to bring transparency and oversight to federal agricultural checkoff programs. These programs collect mandatory fees from farmers but have long lacked accountability, enabling waste, corruption, and favoritism toward big ag. The OFF Act ensures these funds actually support the independent producers who pay them, not corporate insiders.

Big Votes on the House Floor

big votes on house floor

The House passed DOGE cuts: In a strong step toward restoring fiscal responsibility, we passed President Trump’s $9.4 billion rescissions package, targeting wasteful government spending. We’re not here to fund the swamp’s pet projects, we’re here to DEFUND the waste, slash the fat, and put America First.

yes vote BBB

President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill Passes the House: We YES on the One Big, Beautiful Bill. This is what putting America First looks like: $1.6 trillion in mandatory spending cuts, the largest tax cuts in U.S. history, no tax on tips, and a closed, secure border. This bill isn’t just a win for the country, but a major step forward for the hardworking families right here in South Carolina.

Committee Work

committee work

We chaired a critical Oversight Committee hearing on artificial intelligence reshaping the future of America’s economy and national security. AI isn’t science fiction, it’s here, it’s moving fast, and our federal government needs to stop dragging its feet. If we want to keep pace with President Trump’s vision for a smarter, stronger, America First future, Washington must lead, not follow. The stakes are too high for incompetence or woke experiments.

Oversight Hearing: A Hearing with Sanctuary State Governors: We put sanctuary governors Kathy Hochul, Tim Walz, and JB Pritzker on the spot, demanding answers for their reckless policies which prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. P.S. Tim Walz can’t define what a woman is.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth joined us in the House Armed Services Committee hearing as he continues leading the fight to expose and rein in Biden’s reckless military spending. From woke DEI programs to gender surgeries and absurd taxpayer-funded animal experiments, Secretary Hegseth is shining a spotlight on the waste and distractions weakening our military.

We've been busy across the Lowcountry:

press conference

We held a press conference at the Holocaust Memorial in Downtown Charleston to highlight our legislation cracking down on Hamas sympathizers and the Muslim Brotherhood. Terrorist apologists have no place in America, not in our streets, not in our schools, not in our government.

We had a strong turnout at our Business and Brews event! Always welcome answering tough questions and sharing the work we are doing to deliver for the Lowcountry.

We toured Detyens Shipyards in North Charleston, a true backbone of America’s shipbuilding. For 60+ years, they’ve kept commercial and military support vessels mission-ready. South Carolina gets the job done.

We visited Nexans in Goose Creek, where they’re helping power the future from right here in the Lowcountry, delivering high-voltage cable solutions which drive clean energy, modernize the grid, and advance global electrification.

Constituent Spotlight: Tanner Czuar

tanner visit

We met with the family of 10-year-old Tanner Czuar, who was a victim of a horrifying car attack outside his school on Sullivan’s Island. The suspect is now facing attempted murder charges. In recognition of Tanner’s incredible courage and strength, we presented him with the Patriot Award from our office. During the visit, we offered our support to Tanner’s family and reaffirmed our commitment to lead efforts which protect children and communities so no family has to face a tragedy like this again.
