Americans for Prosperity Endorses Rep. Mace’s States Reform Act
Washington, D.C. - Americans for Prosperity, a limited government, grassroots organization focused on creating a free and open society, endorsed Rep. Mace’s States Reform Act (SRA). Rep. Mace released the following statement in response to the endorsement:
“Americans for Prosperity are strong champions of limited government and I’m always appreciative of their support. Brent and his team understand the importance of giving power to the States, not the Federal government. This is especially true as it relates to law enforcement,”said Rep. Mace.“The States Reform Act will allow federal law enforcement to focus on larger issues like violent crime, rather than continuing to fight a long past failing war on drugs. Receiving this endorsement is a crucial step in the right direction for ensuring this common sense legislation is passed.”
“The States Reform Act represents an opportunity for leaders in Congress to create stability and security for the American people. The failures of the War on Drugs are well-known and well-documented, and it is past time to move on from this misbegotten effort. Meanwhile, the developing cannabis industry cannot truly develop into an engine of entrepreneurship and second chances until cannabis sheds its uncertain federal legal status. This bill is a common-sense policy change that will create a free and fair regulatory system and ensure law enforcement is focused on preventing and solving serious crime,”said Brent Gardner, Chief government Affairs Officer at Americans for Prosperity.
