LINSEY DAVIS: I'd just like to get your reaction to the message that he delivered to the country, as we reach this one-year mark, since the global pandemic was declared.

REP. NANCY MACE: I was encouraged to hear, you know, the encouragement looking forward and getting the vaccinations in arms. That's important that the sooner we do that for the majority of Americans, the sooner we can get through COVID-19. But I was discouraged, of course, hearing the message of unity—I'd like to ask President Biden, where was he over the last two weeks? Republicans wanted to work on a package in a bipartisan manner and it just didn't happen. It felt, it really feels like up here on the Hill that this is Nancy Pelosi's party, and President Biden is just living in it. And I'm willing to work with anyone who's willing to work with me, and we've got so much work to do for the American people right now, and we want to do it together.

LINSEY DAVIS: What more could he have done to extend the olive branch to Republicans?

REP. MACE: Well, reach across the aisle. Not a single amendment during the reconciliation process for this $2 trillion package -- we don't have that money to spend --but not a single Republican amendment was allowed or permitted to pass through the budget reconciliation process. And when it, when it came back from the Senate, all we were allowed to do was vote on it. And I mean, that's just wrong. And if we're going to talk about unity, we actually need to work together, as a country and as a nation.
