September 23, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following joint statement with Ranking Member Rep. James Comer (KY-01) in response to her appointment as Ranking Member of the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights & Civil Liberties:

“I’ve spent my career fighting for the entire Bill of Rights, for equal justice under the law, and criminal justice reform. Serving as Ranking Member for the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties will allow me to spend my time in Congress fighting for the freedoms of everyone in South Carolina and around the country. I want to thank Ranking Member Comer for his confidence in me on these important issues. I look forward to working with Chairman Raskin (MD-08) and the other members of the subcommittee,”said Congresswoman Mace.

“Congresswoman Mace has quickly established herself as a leader in Congress. She is a constant figure on national news outlets championing against waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government. Given her impressive record as a leader in South Carolina, I am confident that she will be an excellent ranking member for the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties,”said Congressman Comer.
