REP. MACE CALLING FOR NO TAX BREAKS FOR SANCTUARY CITIES IN RECONCILIATION BILL
(March 6th 2025, Washington, D.C.) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace is introducing the No Tax Breaks for Sanctuary Cities Act to strip sanctuary cities of tax-exempt municipal bonds—ensuring cities choosing to violate federal immigration law no longer receive preferential treatment under federal tax policy. Mace is also pushing for this measure to be included in the upcoming reconciliation bill, reinforcing jurisdictions defying federal law should not be rewarded with special financial benefits.
At yesterday's disgraceful Oversight hearing, four sanctuary city, activist mayors dodged every question and showed zero remorse for the American citizens raped, murdered, and molested by illegal aliens in their cities.
“These rogue activist sanctuary city politicians refuse to enforce the law, and expect taxpayers to subsidize their chaos,” said Congresswoman Mace. “If they want to turn their cities into safe havens for criminals, they can do it without federal perks.”
“These mayors sat in front of Congress and dodged every question like cowards,” Mace continued. “Not one of them could defend their violation of federal law. Not one of them had the guts to acknowledge the devastation they’ve caused. This bill belongs in the reconciliation package to stop this lawlessness once and for all—no more handouts for sanctuary cities.”
