Rep. Mace Cosponsors Legislation to Continue Offshore Drilling Ban
Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) and the Florida delegation, led by Rep. Mike Waltz (FL-06), introduced bipartisan legislation to codify former President Trump's Executive Order to ban drilling for 10 years off of the coasts of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced the Senate companion.
“I’ve always stood against offshore drilling off South Carolina's coast, even before I came to Congress,” Mace said.“This bill is a continuation of my commitment to the Lowcountry to ensure our beaches, environment, and wildlife are protected. I am ready to help lead this effort to bar oil rigs from our coastline for at least the next decade, and I know the Lowcountry is too.”
