Rep. Mace Introduces Bill Prohibiting Vaccine Mandates for Border Patrol and ICE

December 16, 2021

Charleston, S.C. - Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement on the introduction of legislation to prohibit the use of federal funds to mandate a COVID-19 vaccine to officers and employees of the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and other officers:

“With border apprehensions up over 200 percent from last year alone, the effectiveness of the U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement needs to be a top priority,” said Rep. Mace. “Border Patrol and ICE officers shouldn’t be fired if they don’t take the vaccine. Vaccine mandates will make recruiting and maintaining agents even more difficult than it already is and we are more than overwhelmed with the border crisis.. This is why I am introducing legislation to prohibit the use of federal funds to be used to mandate a COVID-19 vaccination to Border Patrol and ICE officers.”
