Rep. Mace Statement on Speaker Jay Lucas Not Seeking Reelection

Charleston, S.C. — Rep. Nancy Mace released the following statement on Speaker Jay Lucas not seeking reelection:

“During my time in the South Carolina State House, I had the pleasure of working alongside Speaker Jay Lucas. Over the course of his career, he has served the people of South Carolina with the greatest care and devotion. His integrity and love for the people of our state will leave an important legacy for the future. His measured leadership in the legislature was an inspiration to fellow lawmakers. His presence will be sorely missed. I wish him the best in all future endeavors.”
