“We wasted no time this August recess,” said Congresswoman Mace. “From introducing legislation to returning millions to constituents, no one works harder to serve the Lowcountry.”
During the August recess, the Office of Congresswoman Nancy Mace delivered for the Lowcountry by:
- Crossing over a grand total of $414,143,097 returned to constituents, including $35,450,097 in casework and $378,693,000 in grants.
- Attending 59 meetings and events across the Lowcountry.
- Writing 15 letters of support on behalf of constituents and local organizations to support federal investment to the district.
Rep. Mace introduced six bills:
- Gender-Affirming Child Abuse Prevention Act: Creates a federal right for individuals who received dangerous gender-related medical treatments as minors to pursue justice in court, holding perpetrators accountable.
- No Appointments by Rogue Judges Act: Rescinds the authority of district judges to appoint U.S. Attorneys after their 120-day interim term and aligns acting terms with the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.
- Cybersecurity Hiring Modernization Act: Eliminates unnecessary degree barriers and ensures federal agencies can hire the skilled cybersecurity professionals our country needs.
- Restoring Merit in the Military Act: Ensures all Department of Defense personnel decisions are based exclusively on merit, fitness, capability, and performance, not race or ethnicity.
- Restoring Merit in the Military Service Academies Act: Reforms service academy admissions to prioritize merit and prohibit consideration of race, ethnicity, or other unrelated factors.
- No Indoctrination of Military Kids Act: Prohibits Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools from promoting Critical Race Theory (CRT) or DEI agendas, and empowers parents with a formal complaint process for violations.
In addition to introducing legislation, Rep. Mace authored two key oversight letters:
- Letter to CEO of Hertz Global Holdings: Questioned the company’s use of Artificial Intelligence scanning technology to assess vehicle condition and damage, emphasizing protection for consumers from unfair charges.
- Letter to CEO of Wikimedia Foundation (with Chairman James Comer): Raised concerns about potentially organized efforts to push antisemitic and anti-Israel content on Wikipedia to influence U.S. public opinion.
