Rep. Nancy Mace Issues Statement On House Passage Of SAVE America Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 12, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) voted YES on the SAVE America Act, which passed the House of Representatives 218-213. She released the following statement:
"The House passed the SAVE America Act and all but ONE Democrat voted against it.
"It's clear our colleagues on the Left are the only ones who have a problem with requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and photo ID to vote in federal elections. They depend on illegal votes from non-citizens to hold onto power and are willing to compromise election integrity to do it.
"This should not be partisan. Only AMERICAN CITIZENS should vote in AMERICAN elections. We cannot go to ANY OTHER country and vote in their elections. So why should citizens of other countries be allowed to vote in ours? They shouldn't.
“This is why we filed an amendment to move the voter ID requirements up from 2027 to 2026. After our amendment was filed, the bill was changed to apply to elections in 2026. Voter ID cannot wait until 2027. Election integrity must be restored before the midterms, when control of Congress is on the line.
"Now the Senate needs to pass this bill and get it to President Trump's desk immediately."
