REP. NANCY MACE RELEASES STATEMENT ON FILING RESOLUTION PROTECTING EVERY WOMAN’S RIGHT TO TRAVEL OUT OF STATE

February 9, 2023

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) released the following statement on the introduction of her resolution protecting womens’ right to travel:

"There’s been speculation following Dobbs that there are some in Washington, maybe in my own party, who wish to restrict a woman's ability to travel to another state,” said Rep. Mace. "It is unacceptable and wrong. This resolution reiterates the basic rights enshrined in our founding documents, in our Constitution, in our Articles of Confederation, solidified through decades of Supreme Court precedent: women have the right to travel freely. No government (federal, state or local) should ever attempt to take that right away."

"Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice, we should all agree, every woman in this country has the Constitutional right to travel freely from state to state without incrimination. This is one of our most basic principles as Americans we cannot endanger.”
