Rep. Nancy Mace Stands Firm In Protecting Title IX and Our Girls

(Washington, D.C., June 17th 2024) – Title IX was originally enacted in 1972 to prevent sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment in educational programs and activities funded by the federal government. However, the Biden administration recently called to expand Title IX calling for mandatory gender identity protections. Currently, federal judges in states throughout the country are pushing back. 

"We applaud the judges defending the rights of our female athletes and students. The Biden Administration's overreach is a brazen assault on fifty years of essential protections for women, a blatant violation of First Amendment rights, and a total disregard for the explicit text of Title IX as passed by Congress. This extremist rule is an egregious assault on women that should never have seen the light of day,” said Rep. Nancy Mace.
