Rep. Nancy Mace Urges Senate To Pass The Save America Act

March 11, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Mar. 11, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace is calling on the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act immediately, as today marks one month since the House passed the bill 218-213 to secure election integrity.

"The House did its job. One month ago today we passed the SAVE America Act with a clear message from the American people: secure our elections. This is not rocket science, it is common sense. American citizens vote in American elections. No one else. The Senate has no excuse to sit on this any longer. It is time to act," said Congresswoman Mace.

The SAVE America Act would require:

  1. Proof of Citizenship to Register: Individuals registering to vote in federal elections must provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a passport.
  2. Photo ID to Vote: Voters must present a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license or state-issued identification, when casting a ballot in federal elections.

Rep. Mace filed an amendment to move the voter ID requirements up from 2027 to 2026. After our amendment was filed, the bill was changed to apply to elections as soon as the bill is enacted. Voter ID cannot wait until 2027. Election integrity must be restored. The midterms are coming and control of Congress is on the line.

"We're closing the door on fraud, not on voting. If you're an American citizen, your voice should be the ONLY one heard in American elections. The Senate needs to get this bill to President Trump’s desk immediately,” Mace continued.
