Rep. Nancy Mace Votes to Pass the Laken Riley Act in the 119th Congress
159 Leftwing Members Vote to Keep Criminal Illegal Aliens on the Street, Again.
(January 7, 2025, Washington, D.C.) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Laken Riley Act, legislation introduced by Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) to keep violent criminals out of the United States:
“Today’s vote proves once again the radical Left doesn’t care about protecting women—they care about protecting their woke agenda. Last year, 170 members on the Left refused to support this bill, brushing off the brutal murder of Laken Riley because they were taking cues from Joe Biden, a man who apologized to Laken’s killer for calling him ‘illegal’ but couldn’t bring himself to apologize to her family for the tragic consequences of his failed policies. Still 159 of those same members shamelessly voted against this bill for political posturing.”
“Now, this bill heads to the Republican-controlled Senate, and if passed, heads to President Trump’s desk. We have no doubt President Trump will sign it into law, making it one of his first acts to clean up the mess Joe Biden and his Left-wing allies have created. The American people deserve leaders who will stand up for their safety—not cowards who bow to the poison of woke extremism.”
