STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSWOMAN NANCY MACE ON PRESIDENT TRUMP SIGNING THE LAKEN RILEY ACT INTO LAW

January 29, 2025

(Washington D.C., January 29th, 2025) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement on the Laken Riley Act being signed into law by President Donald Trump:

“President Trump just signed the Laken Riley Act into law—his first act as president and a huge win for American women and girls. This should’ve happened last Congress, but the pro-criminal-illegal-alien Left refused, and kept welcoming rapists, terrorists, and murderers into our country,” said Rep. Nancy Mace. “We cosponsored this bill because cartel-affiliated gangbangers like Jose Ibarra have no place in our country. Today, this disgrace ends, and the era of coddling illegal alien murderers is over.”

The Laken Riley Act (H.R. 29) has been at the forefront of House Republican’s efforts to secure the border and get criminal illegal aliens out of this country. The bill passed the House on January 7th, and then passed the Senate as S.5 on January 20th.
