Upcoming Oversight Hearing On Defending America From The Chinese Communist Party’s Political Warfare

June 25, 2024

(Washington, D.C. June 25th, 2024) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace, a key member of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, will be asking questions at a hearing titled “Defending America from the Chinese Communist Party’s Political Warfare, Part II.” This hearing is a critical part of the Committee’s ongoing investigation into the Chinese Communist Party’s influence operations in the United States.

Background:

For decades, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has aimed to infiltrate and influence various sectors and communities within the United States. While the Biden Administration has been given numerous recommendations cracking down on China, they have hardly taken any meaningful action.

  • The U.S. loses up to $600 billion annually due to Chinese IP theft.
  • Over 80% of economic espionage cases brought by the DOJ involve China.
  • Hundreds of Confucius Institutes in the U.S. serve as platforms for Chinese influence & CCP propaganda.
