Trade & Foreign Policy

International trade and good relations with foreign nations are absolutely vital to American prosperity and particularly to the prosperity of the Lowcountry.
Our region survives on the ability to bring millions of visitors from around the world here to spend time on our beaches, in our restaurants, and in our small businesses. South Carolina relies on unrestricted trade to send planes, cars, food, and countless other products made right here around the world. In fact, in 2018, South Carolina was the 14th largest state exporter of goods.
Doing anything to disrupt this flow of goods risks destroying an estimated 157,000 jobs and raising prices on things Lowcountry families buy each and every day. So, when Washington considers taxing products which come from abroad, or another country considers doing the same, it’s something which concerns all of us.
Keeping trade free, fair, and open with as many countries as possible is my top priority. Anything which might jeopardize this is something which shouldn’t be taken lightly, and must be discussed by Congress, not simply carried out by unelected bureaucrats.

Hezbollah’s “leadership” has been dropping like flies. Israel has done the world a favor by taking out these terrorists one by one. We stand firmly with Israel as they continue dismantling the Iran-backed proxies thriving on chaos and violence.
“Israel’s IDF announced, Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7th massacre, is dead. I have two words for our most trusted ally in the Middle East and the IDF: Finish them.”
"Israel’s strike which took out Hezbollah commander Suhail Husseini is a major win against terrorism. Husseini oversaw logistics and attacks on Israel, and his death weakens Hezbollah’s operations. However, Hamas is still launching rockets and holding hostages. Israel's fight is more important than ever and we fully support Israel in defending itself and crushing these threats."
“The Biden-Harris administration traded a basketball player for the ‘Merchant of Death,’ Viktor Bout, and now he’s back in the game, brokering weapons deals with Iran-backed Houthis. We warned them this would happen, but once again, this administration's blind obsession with pandering over sound policy has put our allies at risk.”
Hamas' leadership is unraveling as its reckless, terrorist-driven agenda backfires on the very people they claim to protect. One year after the heinous Oct. 7 attack, Hamas has only brought death, despair, and the collapse of Gaza. Their delusions of victory are fading fast as the world—and their own people—recognize them for what they truly are: a failed, oppressive force hiding behind citizens.
“Under Biden-Harris’s watch, Iran’s oil exports have surged by over 500%, pumping billions into the regime’s pockets and enabling them to triple their financial support for Hamas and other terrorist groups. Iran is funding terror and fueling chaos. Democracy needs strong leadership now more than ever.”
“The Biden-Harris administration chose to refund UNRWA, which hired Hamas leader Fateh Sherif in Lebanon. How many more terrorists need to be on their payroll before we finally wake up? Cut UNRWA’s funding, strip their tax-exempt status, and stop enabling terrorism with American taxpayer dollars.”
“Hezbollah’s actions are just another example of the global rise of state-sponsored terrorism, threatening peace and stability across borders,” said Rep. Nancy Mace. “Their ballistic missile attack near Tel Aviv is an assault on Israel – our ally.
“Israel is under the worst attack since October 7th and the White House is completely mum. The last time Kamala Harris said anything in her official capacity about standing with Israel was last year. Her administration’s pathetic weakness has failed our only ally in the Middle East. The United States must back Israel with unwavering support.”
“Israel's strike taking out top Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil is a huge win. Hamas and Hezbollah are nothing but terrorists who thrive on hate and cowardice, hiding behind civilians as they spread chaos,” said Congresswoman Nancy Mace. “We’ve backed Israel from day one, and we’re not stopping until every last hostage is returned.”
