30 years ago today The Citadel began allowing women to enroll as cadets.

The Lowcountry always has, and always will play a vital role in our country's history. 

On June 28, 1776, British ships sailed right into the Lowcountry, to the beaches on Sullivan's Island. We celebrate the brave men who fought, not just for South Carolina, but for our nation's independence. 

We stand with the men and women who fought for us, and have carried the fight back home with them every day. We pray God is with you through every battle, internal, and external, and we thank you for your service.
