Better Government

Our Founders accomplished a monumental task when they drafted our Constitution over 230 years ago. The system of checks and balances and separation of powers they created has carried our country through immense challenges which would have caused other systems of government to collapse.
However, this system has been damaged by career politicians who have engaged in tricks and games to protect and expand their power in ways the Founders would be horrified by today. This has led to many serving decades in Congress, near-criminal degrees of waste and self-dealing, and a national debt our kids and grandkids will be forced to repay.
As a member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, I’m committed to advancing common-sense reforms which will put a stop to this waste, fraud, and abuse once and for all.
A balanced budget amendment, congressional term limits, single-issue bills, and a ban on proxy voting and earmarks are all simple changes we can make which will go a long way toward restoring the vision of limited government our Founders had all those years ago.

These moms are mountain movers.
It took five years of mothers organizing across South Carolina to criminalize luring a child to a vehicle, because it wasn't considered illegal until the door closed behind them. THIS is the power of mothers who refuse to quit.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with them in demanding better for our children in South Carolina.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 14, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement regarding the federal government's sentencing recommendation for former South Carolina State Representative RJ May, who pleaded guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material:
Let this sink in: the amount of fraud we're talking about in Minnesota could exceed the entire GDP of Somalia.
This happened under Tim Walz's watch. One of the biggest fraud schemes in American history.
No wonder Democrats couldn't stop screeching in today's hearing, the fraud is on their hands and they know it.
Tim Walz has shown why Minnesotans and American taxpayers should be deeply concerned about how federal dollars are handled under his watch.
At least ten federal agencies are now investigating Minnesota over billions in suspected fraud tied to taxpayer-funded programs.
We CAN'T wait for Tim Walz to testify in Oversight.
A Congress where only 5% of bills ever reach the floor for an open vote is a Congress who cannot effectively address rising costs, from housing and healthcare to childcare and everyday necessities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 16, 2025) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, introduced the Accountable Leadership for Veterans Act, legislation aimed at improving care for veterans by strengthening leadership accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
"Today Republicans have a governing trifecta: the House, the Senate and the White House. If we fail to pass legislation that permanently secures the border, addresses the affordability crisis, improves health care and restores law and order, we will lose this majority. And we will deserve it. "

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 2, 2025) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) announced H.R. 5235, the Skills-Based Federal Contracting Act, has passed out of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Washington shouldn’t shut out 60% of Americans from federal contracting jobs just because they don’t have a four-year degree. Our Skills-Based Federal Contracting Act puts merit FIRST.
