Veterans

Sending our troops overseas, making sure those who have come home receive the very best healthcare, the applicability of military skills in the private sector — you name it — all these issues have affected both me and my family personally.
Like many South Carolinians, most of my family are military veterans. I am the daughter of U.S. Army retired Brigadier General James E. Mace, who saw two tours of combat in Vietnam and another in the 1964 Dominican Republic coup d’etat.
I am enormously supportive of all those who have served our country and will strongly fight for them in Congress, because to me, they’re family.
And Parris Island is part of this family—not only here in Beaufort, but to our entire state. Since 1915, the birthplace of Marines has always called the Lowcountry home and I will do everything possible in Congress to see it remains so.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 19, 2025) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today sent a formal letter to Speaker Mike Johnson urging the immediate removal of Rep. Cory Mills (FL-07) from the House Committee on Armed Services and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs following a series of alarming ethical, legal, and personal misconduct allegations.
Today we recognize every veteran who has served our great country.
In December 1968, my dad, then Captain Mace, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry, led his men near Dong Xoai under enemy fire. He flanked bunkers, rescued a downed helicopter crew, and took out gunners while saving lives. His actions destroyed an enemy supply complex and earned him the Distinguished Service Cross.
A soldier. A leader. A hero.
To every veteran who has served our country, thank you for your sacrifice, your courage, and your love of America.
Happy birthday to the United States Marine Corps!
Your discipline, sacrifice, and devotion to duty continues to inspire us all.

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 29, 2025 — Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) announced the House-passed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026 includes her provisions to prohibit the Department of War (DoW) from conducting painful and unnecessary testing on cats and dogs and other forms of animal testing.
The legislation delivers three critical reforms:
Unlike the Left, we won’t hold our troops’ paychecks hostage. We’re urging banks and credit unions to stand by our servicemembers during this Schumer Shutdown.
It was a privilege to help organize this year's Tunnel to Towers Foundation National Golf Series, hosted by The Whispering Marsh Charity Foundation at the Dunes West Golf & River Club. The event was an incredible day that brought together neighbors, friends, and supporters from across the Lowcountry in support of a mission that matters deeply: providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and fallen first responders.
Our troops are being held hostage by the Schumer shutdown. President Trump is moving to use available funds to make sure our troops get paid, something Democrats refused to do. We’re calling on financial institutions to protect military families caught in the crossfire. 🇺🇸
Chuck Schumer’s being pushed around by a bartender from the Bronx, and the result is a shutdown hurting our troops and families.
(Washington, D.C., October 9, 2025) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) is calling on South Carolina banks and credit unions to take immediate steps to protect military families and servicemembers from financial penalties during the ongoing government shutdown.
If Senate Democrats fail to act by October 15, servicemembers nationwide, including approximately 34,000 in South Carolina, will miss their next paycheck. While our troops continue to show up for duty, the Schumer Shutdown has left their families facing financial uncertainty.
Leading by example means you never ask someone to do something you yourself can't do or are unwilling to do. Hard to lead from the front if you can’t keep up.
