Veterans

Sending our troops overseas, making sure those who have come home receive the very best healthcare, the applicability of military skills in the private sector — you name it — all these issues have affected both me and my family personally.
Like many South Carolinians, most of my family are military veterans. I am the daughter of U.S. Army retired Brigadier General James E. Mace, who saw two tours of combat in Vietnam and another in the 1964 Dominican Republic coup d’etat.
I am enormously supportive of all those who have served our country and will strongly fight for them in Congress, because to me, they’re family.
And Parris Island is part of this family—not only here in Beaufort, but to our entire state. Since 1915, the birthplace of Marines has always called the Lowcountry home and I will do everything possible in Congress to see it remains so.

The VA spends nearly $1 BILLION a year on software, with insufficient tracking to ensure these resources are being used efficiently. Duplicate licenses. Unused licenses. Millions in preventable waste. No accountability. Our Veterans Affairs Management and Oversight of Software Assets (VAMOSA) Act fixes the problem. A complete inventory, no duplication, and every dollar serving our veterans, not bureaucratic inefficiency.
We continue to pray for our brave troops who put their lives on the line to stand against terrorism and the forces of evil in Iran.
The Ayatollah has long funded and supported terrorism responsible for murdering Americans and countless others who simply wanted to live free.
We will never forget their courage or their sacrifice.
When we stand for the American flag, we are not standing for politicians or parties. We are standing for the brave men and women in uniform who serve and who have served this nation.
Our veterans deserve every promise kept. The best health care. The strongest benefits. The full support and resources of the country they defended. They earned it through service, sacrifice, and courage. We owe them nothing less.
